In my last post I said that I would post two today and, by my thinking, even though it's three in the morning here, this is my second post of the day. The twelve days of Christmas limp on.
This is a closer view of the top of Hochblauen than this shot, which is one of the larger mountains in this area. It's not huge and it's certainly not big compared to the Alps, which can be viewed from the balcony of the Hotel in this photo, but it certainly is nice to look at when covered in snow.
For me, that small clearing straight down from the telecom tower is my favourite part of this picture. I like that it shows you the incredibly tall trunks of the trees on the mountainside and it's just a little break in the dense, dense forest covering the mountain.
